Job Description:
Storage Product Field Engineer(PFE) team provides problem determination and resolution for IBM Disk Storage Products.
As storage PFE, you will
1. Support critical customers in IBM Greater China Group( GCG includes Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan).
2. Recover the most complecated field issues as the final level of field technical support.
3. Provide root cause analysis and code fix to customer problems.
4. Provide tips and guidelines to field team to improve the efficiency and capability of problem solving for customer.
5. Work closely with the Field Project Office to handle customer complaints by visiting customer and onsite support.
5. Provide quality feedback to development team, and collaborate with worldwide development and PFE team to develop technical or service strategies.
6, Become member of the fast growing CSTL and IBM Worldwide PFE team, receive various technical and soft skill trainings, and work overseas with other worldwide teams.
Qualification:
1. Bachelor degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computing Science or Electronic Engineering related.
2. Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
3. Good at communication and teamwork.
4. Active learner with self motivation
5. Spirit of dedication and devotion under stress;
6. Accept overtime and duty on day off and holidays;
7. Fluent English in speaking, reading and writing is a must for daily work(CET-6 or above).
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience in SAN, Storage products. Knowledge of IBM Storage Product: DS8000, DS6000, ESS(model E/F/800), DS4000 or DS3000 is a plus.
2. Familiarity with Unix or Linux. Knowledge of IBM Servers Product: Open system (System p, System i) and Mainframe (System z) is a plus.
3. Experience in Technical Support.
Travel: Up to 5%; travelling 3 days per month; home on weekends
